Champions 4 Her Club event held at E.ON U.S.
Bernadette Hamilton, Sharon W. Davis, Ed.D., Stephanie Bateman and Judge Sadiqa Reynolds posed above at the Champions 4 Her Club gathering on November 18, 2009. A special thank you to Carolle Jones Clay, Laura Douglas and Stephanie Bateman for co-hosting the event at E.ON. U.S. The gathering gave guests the opportunity to connect, learn more about Women 4 Women and discuss some of the challenges that women and girls face in the community.
Finance 4 Her� receives grant from JPMorgan Chase
Women 4 Women receives a grant from JPMorgan Chase Foundation to help boost the presence of W4W�s newly crowned Chase Finance 4 Her� program at Meyzeek Community School. Finance 4 Her� is a financial education program that teaches basic money management -- budgeting, saving, planning ahead. At Meyzeek, the Chase grant will help deliver the Finance 4 Her� Financial Opportunity: Family Progress curriculum to families. Adults will learn the fundamentals of healthy finances and develop financial plans for their individual households while their children will work on assignments and activities specifically geared to them.
Bikinis and Bifocals.com Supports W4W
Bikinis and Bifocals is a local organization that brings together various �circles� of friends to share information and help other women. Their Second Annual
�South End Girls Unite for a Cause� event raised money for Women 4 Women. Diane Ormerod and Dr. Kim Westermann created Bikinis and Bifocals with the premise that attitude is as important as anything else in determining the direction of your life. They decided that turning 40, 50 or beyond is a reason to celebrate and that every day is a new opportunity to learn from and help one another and the greater community in some way. The �Bikinis� aspect of the name signifies feeling and looking good and living life to its fullest as women age. The �Bifocals� aspect focuses on the various health issues women must face after turning 40. To find out more about Bikini and Bifocals, go to their web site at: www.bikinisandbifocals.com
